Recently, I was watching the early morning news and the Anchors on the News Show were “Tweeting” on their cell phones during the broadcast. I thought that was a crack-up and a sign-of-the-times! On a lark, I went to twitter.com and signed up. Of course, I don’t know anyone who “tweets” so I didn’t know who to “follow“, (to see their tweets). Twitter has a search feature and a way to search by interests. I saw a celebrity that I have been a fan of for quit awhile so I began to follow her tweets.

Now if you follow the link to the left which will lead you to my profile on Twitter, it won’t be hard to figure out what celebrity I began to follow. I am going to leave this post open for comments, so please no comments about me being a perverted old man!

It should be noted that this particular celebrity has well over 10,000 followers, but she follows only about 20 people. After watching her tweets for awhile I saw one of  her followers get angry that she didn’t get an answer from the celebrity she tweeted. Obviously the fan didn’t understand how Twitter works. Funny, the celebrity actually apologized! I also noticed that she actually tries to tweet her followers (fans that she doesn’t follow). For a celeb’ to do that is quite amazing! So now I am a fan, not just because I am a perverted old man, but because this particular Celeb is apparently a really nice person!

So in the next pages of this post I will explain in plain english how Twitter works and some of the terms I have bolded above for those who don’t tweet!
