So as you may have realized most if not all the stuff on my Website is used as an example to potential clients who may choose to have me create/host their websites. So a couple of things I have done is to join Myspace and FaceBook to illustrate to my clients how to have a varied web presence. (There are banners in my WebHosting Page that lead to both of these. And of course there are gadgets on both of those leading back here.)

Well, ever since I have been on MySpace I keep getting emails from young ladies who want to get to know me! The interesting part is that the average age of the ladies is 20+ yrs. younger than I. Now I don’t have a problem with that in fact I have an uncle who married a great woman 20 yrs younger and it seems to be one of the best things he’s ever done. (She is one of the “New Southern Bell” types that would kick my uncle to the crib if it wasn’t right for her!)

Course when I politely replied to the ladies most do not respond back… May have something to do with my request for them to go to my “Contact Us” form on my Website and send me a note. Which I honestly tell them is because I have visitor tracking on my Website so when they do visit I can see at least where there “first hop” server is in the world! (What ever ISP their using.)  Wanna know how many of them are actually in the Philipines, East Africa, etc.? Oh, by the way their Profiles on MySpace and FaceBook say they live in the good old USA.

So… to the Ladies. I suppose it is possible for you to be real. Please do not be offended. Most if not all of these “social networking” sites are filled with people who misrepresent themselves. Sadly a good portion of them are actually “slaves“. Yes you read that right. The World Wide Web goes everywhere! Even into the sweatshops of third world countries.

I put this post up just to illustrate how dangerous the Internet can be. I mean we have all heard the horror stories of the predators out there. So whether you are male, female, old, young be careful out there. Don’t ever give your real physical address, phone number or anything else that can actually be traced back to you. If you do ever chose to meet someone IRL (In real life), do it in a public place in the daytime and take a friend with you.
